Why and how should marketers invest in personal growth?

July 13, 2021
Being a marketer comes with its own challenges and obstacles. Constantly fighting the battle of general mistrust in marketers, it can be a lonely road.  Feeling overwhelmed, like a hamster in a wheel, putting out fires all day long and even though you work like crazy you still feel underappreciated. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Our goal is to inspire you as a marketer to grow – we want you to be empowered, to feel significant, appreciated and grounded every day!

That is why the founder & CEO of Powerful Marketers, Mari-Liis Vaher, set out on the journey of launching a podcast for marketers. With the aim of building a podcast that is truly needed and helpful for marketers, she is determined to post a short video on a different topic related to marketer’s growth for 100 days in a row inside the Powerful Marketers Community.

Here is the overview of the first week:

Why do you need to invest in your growth?

You are the only one who has the power to decide where your journey in life is going: is it going forward or is it going backward. Great minds know that one of the best things about life is that we never have to stop learning. There are always new skills to learn and new techniques for us to adopt.

Why do marketers need to reprioritize themselves?

Feel like you don't have enough time to do the things you know you should be doing? You are constantly multitasking “in order to be more effective” and you keep being distracted by everything around you. It’s time to make yourself a priority again! Find out what are the 5 ways that help you do that!

How can marketers better manage stress & anxiety?

An endless to-do list, unplanned meetings, phone calls, tasks, emails, constantly chasing deadlines... Sounds familiar? It doesn't have to be this way. Understand the main causes for marketers' anxiety: unbalanced lifestyle, information overload, distractions, addictions. Know how to help yourself feel calm and grounded!

How can marketers boost their confidence?

Do you sometimes lack confidence and struggle with self-doubt? It's time to boost your confidence! Know what affects your self-esteem in your everyday life: the way you overcome obstacles; the way you adapt to changes; the way you act in difficult or unfamiliar situations;  the way you analyze and use information.

Why should overwhelmed marketers invest in their growth?

Not enough time, money, motivation or knowledge to invest into your growth as a marketer? At the end of the day, it all comes down to how much do you believe in yourself and your ability to grow and improve. The same reasons why you think you can't invest into growth are the very reasons why you should start growing!

How often should you communicate in marketing?

Marketing is all about communication. In psychology, there is a term called the "emotional bridge" which lasts for about 2 weeks. This means that if a person cannot hear or see something about your product or service in a longer period, they will forget their emotions about that product or service. Always be consistent and clear in your communication!

How to grow your self-discipline as a marketer?

Our minds are built to seek structure and rules because it gives us a feeling of safety. You need discipline to build powerful routines that will help you grow and advance. Remember that progress is better than perfection, and consistency always leads to improved self-confidence and growth.
