Community Member Spotlight: Marketing Student Reema Nashwan’s Story of Persistence

May 12, 2026

We are honored to introduce Reema Nashwan, a dedicated NextGen Hub member who reminds us that determination is often our greatest asset.

Reema recently graduated from the Islamic University of Gaza, ranking first in her class with a 3.7 GPA. However, her story is not just about academic success, but about the strength found in education under the most difficult conditions.

Studying through the darkest moments

Reema lives in Gaza, where she has faced extreme hardships, including displacement and days without food, clean water, or electricity. When her university, which she had viewed as a haven of hope, was destroyed, she felt her future was slipping away.

Instead of giving up, she doubled down on her studies. Reema completed her assignments by candlelight and continued to learn even during bombings. She stayed focused because she believed knowledge was the one thing that could never be taken from her.

Reema’s lessons on resilience

Through these trials, Reema discovered that the ability to persevere is an achievement in itself. She shares three key takeaways from her journey:

  • Persistence is success. Sometimes, the most significant thing you can do is simply refuse to give up.
  • Acknowledge small wins. Celebrate your small achievements and maintain hope for the future.
  • Value humanity. It is vital to hold onto empathy and support others even in the most difficult circumstances.

Reema’s journey shows that determination can grow even when giving up seems easier. She shares her story to remind us that no matter how heavy life feels, there is always something inside you that pushes you to keep going.

Thank you, Reema, for sharing your courage and being an inspiring part of the Powerful Marketers community.
